MǍ/RE 

In the wild, it is the mares who lead the herd. 

They decide movement for the best grazing and watering spots and guide the herd to safety. 

They hold the emotional intelligence of the group, displaying calm confidence, wisdom, trust and clear communication, especially during disputes.
Impeccably hardwired into their equine species DNA, whether wild or domesticated.

This year’s design, entitled MǍ/RE, is inspired by wild mares' role, her structure, and her sense of purpose in herd harmony.

MǍ/RE is a portmanteau of ‘horse’( 马 - Mǎ ) in Chinese, and ‘mare’ (female horse) in English. 

The pattern celebrates the Year of the Fire Horse for Chinese New Year 2026, with tessellated mares galloping and leaping through the herd across billowing ‘flames’ of jade green meadows.

Coupled with a red and pink series of colours (with a total of four designs), the interchangeable red packets are printed on sustainable papers and hotstamping micro-texture effects with minimal use of plastic packaging.

Marking our second year of collaboration, 2b Printing Solutions expertise has been incredibly insightful. The team has yet again produced a sustainable work of art with print innovations from their award-winning mastery.

We hope the design inspired from the wild mares' steady demeanor, bravery, freedom and loyalty brings prosperous success, curiosity and good luck with the gentle ease of overcoming obstacles for the new year :)
